Intercoper launches SeoulFoodTour.com, the studio's first food-focused travel guide, researched and curated by the Intercoper Curator Team on Next.js + Sanity.
Visit site →Buenos Aires, Argentina — Intercoper announces the launch of SeoulFoodTour.com, an independent editorial travel guide covering food tours, markets, and culinary experiences in Seoul, South Korea. The site marks two firsts for the studio: its first project built around food rather than a monument, and its first destination in Asia.
The site launches with twelve long-form guides, each researched, written, and reviewed by the Intercoper Curator Team.
The Project
Every previous site in Intercoper's travel portfolio has been organized around a fixed structure — a building, a ruin, a museum. Seoul is a different problem. There is no single entrance, no official ticketing authority, no published price list. There are thousands of stalls across a dozen markets, each one claiming to be the one worth queueing for.
That absence of structure is precisely why the information available online is so poor. Search results are dominated by resellers and by content that recycles the same handful of assumptions: that Myeongdong is where you go for street food (it's the most overpriced), that a food tour is about the food (Seoul's street food is cheap — a full market meal runs about $20–30), or that a general tour can accommodate any traveler (many state plainly that they cannot).
The launch content addresses what travelers actually decide: which tour format fits them, what a tour costs against eating alone, where to book among five competing platforms, which market suits their trip, whether a private tour is worth the premium, and — the question almost no one answers properly — what a vegan, vegetarian, or Muslim traveler can realistically do in a market where an estimated 95% of stalls use fish sauce or meat powder.
Who Produces the Content
Every guide on the site is produced by the Intercoper Curator Team, the studio's in-house editorial group, responsible for research, verification, comparison, and the final recommendation on every page. Mario Dalo, founder of Intercoper, serves as editorial director, setting standards and reviewing the work.
The team uses whatever tools serve the research: official tourism sources, market and operator documentation, platform listings, and analytical software for organizing and cross-checking large volumes of information. The tools are instruments. The judgment — what is true, what is worth telling a traveler, what a tour is actually worth — belongs to the people doing the work.
Editorial Standard
The Seoul project required two editorial decisions that departed from the studio's monument sites, both driven by what could and could not be verified.
First, prices are published as ranges rather than fixed figures. A monument has an official ticket price that can be checked against a government portal. A food tour does not: prices move with operator, season, group size, and demand, and a stall's price moves faster still. Publishing a precise number would look more authoritative and be less true, so the guides state ranges with an explicit pointer to the booking platform for the current figure.
Second, the site publishes no review quotations and no aggregate review claims. Intercoper maintains a verified review corpus for its Colosseum property — over 8,000 items across five sources, analyzed by the team — and cites it there. No equivalent corpus exists for Seoul, so none is claimed. Authority on the site rests on the accuracy of what is published, not on the appearance of research.
Where sources conflict or a claim can't be verified, the site says so. Where the honest answer is unflattering to a booking — that the cheapest way to eat at a Seoul market is to go alone, that halal options are genuinely harder to find than vegan ones, that a famous market has a documented history of overcharging tourists — the guides say that too.
Each guide opens with a Quick Answer, states its conclusions before its explanations, presents trade-offs in comparison tables, and closes every recommendation with an explicit statement of what the reader gives up by taking it.
Build
The site runs on the stack Intercoper has standardized across its travel properties:
- Next.js 14 (App Router) for server-rendered pages
- Sanity CMS as a headless content backend, with editorial elements stored as structured fields
- Vercel for edge deployment, with Cloudflare handling DNS and caching
- Server-side rendering for all content and internal links, so that everything published is present in the initial HTML response
Internal linking is persisted in the content layer rather than assembled in the browser — a decision carried over from the studio's recent rebuilds, since client-side link injection is invisible to most crawlers. The structured-data layer emits Article, Breadcrumb, Organization, and FAQPage schema. The site omits aggregateRating markup entirely — a deliberate compliance decision, as review markup on non-review pages violates Google's guidelines.
The engineering exists to serve the editorial work, not to substitute for it.
Commercial Model
SeoulFoodTour.com does not sell tickets or process payments. Tours are operated by licensed third parties — GetYourGuide and Viator — and displayed at the operator's listed price with no markup or added fee. The site earns an affiliate commission at no additional cost to the visitor. Recommendations are editorial and cannot be purchased.
